1. Who this policy applies to
This Privacy Policy applies to personal data we collect from users of the Scout’d app.
Scout’d is currently intended for football players aged 16 and over. Users under 16 are not permitted to create an account.
2. Personal data we collect
The personal data we collect depends on how you use the App, but may include:
Account and identity data
- first name and last name;
- email address;
- date of birth;
- phone number; and
- login credentials.
Profile data
- profile photo;
- football team and club history;
- position;
- playing style;
- preferred foot;
- key strengths;
- biography and profile information; and
- highlight videos and football-related media.
Performance and activity data
- match logs and football performance data, such as score, playing time, goals, assists, cards, penalty saves, Player of the Match awards, and self-evaluation scores;
- ratings, rankings, and platform-generated performance indicators; and
- likes, comments, follows, and other activity within the App.
Communications data
- messages you send to us, including support requests, complaints, safeguarding concerns, and other correspondence.
Technical and usage data
- device, log, and app usage information;
- analytics and diagnostic information; and
- information about how you interact with the App.
We do not intentionally collect special category personal data through Scout’d.

We collect personal data:
- directly from you when you create an account, complete your profile, upload content, log matches, or contact us;
- from your activity within the App;
- from other users where they verify or report match data linked to your account; and
- automatically through the operation, analytics, and security systems used in the App.
4. How we use your personal data
We use personal data to:
- create and manage your account;
- provide the App and its features;
- display your profile, content, and activity within the platform;
- allow you to log matches, build a football history, and use rankings and rating features;
- generate Scout’d XP, Scout’d Match Ratings, Scout’d Rating, rankings, and related product features;
- enable social features such as likes, comments, follows, and feed content;
- review reported match data and investigate suspected misuse;
- moderate content and enforce our Terms of Use;
- respond to support requests, complaints, and safeguarding concerns;
- improve, test, develop, and secure the App;
- send service-related communications, including transactional emails;
- send marketing communications where permitted by law; and
- comply with legal and regulatory obligations.
5. Our lawful bases for processing
Under UK data protection law, we rely on the following lawful bases depending on the purpose of the processing:
Contract
We process much of your personal data because it is necessary to provide the Scout’d app and services to you under our Terms of Use, including account creation, profile hosting, match logging, social features, and core app functionality.
Legitimate interests
We process personal data where it is necessary for our legitimate interests in operating, improving, protecting, and growing Scout’d, including:
- app security and performance;
- fraud prevention and misuse detection;
- content moderation and enforcement;
- verification and review of reported match data;
- analytics, product improvement, and testing;
- safeguarding and platform integrity; and
- limited marketing of Scout’d and its services, where lawful.
When we rely on legitimate interests, we consider and balance any potential impact on your rights and interests.

6. Visibility of your data in the App
Scout’d is a signed-in platform. Most profile information, posts, highlight videos, rankings, and football-related activity are visible to other users within the App.
Certain self-evaluation data may have different visibility options within the App. Even so, you should assume that most content you choose to upload to Scout’d will be visible to other users of the platform.
7. Ratings, rankings, and platform-generated data
Scout’d generates ratings, rankings, and other performance indicators based on data submitted through the App and other signals available within the platform.
These outputs are designed to provide a guide to player performance and ability. They are not guaranteed to be accurate, complete, or appropriate for scouting or recruitment decisions.
8. Sharing your personal data
We may share personal data:
- with service providers and processors who help us operate Scout’d, such as hosting, infrastructure, storage, analytics, communications, support, moderation, and technical service providers;
- where content and profile data are made visible within the App to other signed-in users;
- where necessary to investigate reports, fraud, abuse, safeguarding concerns, or legal issues;
- with professional advisers where reasonably necessary;
- with regulators, law enforcement, football authorities, or other third parties where required by law or where we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to protect rights, safety, or the integrity of the platform; and
- as part of a business reorganisation, merger, acquisition, or asset transfer.
We require service providers to handle personal data appropriately and only for authorised purposes.
9. International transfers
We aim to use service providers based in the UK. If we use service providers or infrastructure that involve transferring personal data outside the UK in future, we will take steps required by applicable data protection law to protect that data.

We keep personal data for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy, including to provide the App, maintain user records, improve the product, resolve disputes, enforce our Terms, and meet legal requirements.

We may send you service emails relating to your account and your use of the App.
We may also send you marketing communications about Scout’d where permitted by law. You can opt out of marketing emails at any time by using the unsubscribe option in the message or by contacting us.

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
15. Third-party content and services
The App may include references to football teams, clubs, leagues, and other third-party names, brands, and assets. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify users through the App or by other appropriate means.
